Digital Writing Blogs User Policy
Etiquette and Professionalism:
The blogs on this server are public-facing, which means that you write as a representative of Cornell College. With this in mind, please adopt a professional voice when writing at all times: use appropriate language, do not make any statements that disparage the College, and do not make any statements that would potentially expose the College to broader public disapproval.
Likewise, a professional site should be professionally written and edited. Never publish content with spelling, grammar, or syntax mistakes. Always edit carefully, including html, and use the “preview draft” function on WordPress prior to publishing.
Use of Images:
Please don’t upload your high resolution or large files to WordPress, as it will overload the server.
Instead, use your computer’s screenshot, snip, or grab tool to take a lower resolution screen shot of the picture you wish to upload to your blog, save it in a folder, then upload that version to WordPress.
Storage and Site Transfer:
Due to the limitations on server space, all sites will be deleted after two years. If you want to preserve the content on your site, please contact the professor within that time and they will work with you to transfer this content to another site that you own. The College cannot continue to host your content beyond two years.
Access and Privacy:
WordPress access should be limited to Cornell College students, faculty, and staff only. Do not share your login information with anyone else.
