There are a lot of great college softball teams this season.  With so many great teams, this means that softball fans are in store for lots of amazing games along with some exciting upsets.  At this point in the season, none of the top teams are undefeated, but they do have some amazing records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#1 Texas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll<\/a> lists Texas as the number one team in the Nation.  They are currently 34-3 and have won some big games so far this season.  Texas Softball<\/a> has losses to #20 Stanford, #3 Florida, and #18 Mississippi State.  Texas has had some huge wins throughout the season as well.  They have wins over #8 Texas Tech, #11 Arizona, #3 Florida, #23 Auburn, and several others. Texas is hitting at an impressive .384 clip with 54 home runs and 58 doubles.  Offensively they are led by Kayden Henry, Mia Scott, and Ashton Malony.  Their top pitchers are Teagan Kaven with 14 wins and Citlaly Guierrez with 7 wins.  They have some big games left on the schedule, but they are on pace to make it to Oklahoma for the College World Series.  The Longhorns are built for a deep postseason run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#2 Florida<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll<\/a> has Florida as the number 2 softball team in the country.  Florida Softball<\/a> is currently 31-3 with losses to #14 Duke, UFC, and #2 Texas.  Their top wins have come against, #2 Texas, #25 Auburn, and #4 Texas A&M.  Florida is currently hitting .357 with 65 home runs and 61 doubles.  The Gators are very talented both offensively and defensively.  Their offensive leaders are Kendra Falby, Taylor Shumaker, and Mia Williams.  Their top pitchers are Keagan Rothrock with 9 wins, Ava Brown with 8 wins, and Kara Hammock had 8 wins.   These Gators are ready for whatever challenges come their way. Florida has some tough games ahead on their schedule, but they are poised for a run to the College World Series and a shot at a National Championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#3 Oklahoma
<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll<\/a> currently has the Sooners listed as the third best team in the country.  Oklahoma is currently 31 and 3 and are the defending NCAA Champions.  Oklahoma Softball<\/a> shows that the Sooners have only lost to Missouri and #9 Tennessee twice.  They have 3 wins over #10 South Carolina and two wins over #12 Arkansas.  This team is loaded with talent and they are looking to defend their title.  They are currently hitting .334 with 67 home runs and 56 doubles.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Offensively they are led by Kasidi Pickering, Gabbie Garcia, and Ella Parker.  The top pitchers for this team are Landry Smith with 10 wins and Isabella Smith with 8 wins.  Oklahoma is a dangerous team and they are on pace to be back in the College World Series with a great chance to win it all.  As defending National Champions, they will be ready for all challengers.

#4 Texas A&M<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll<\/a> lists the Aggies as the number four team in the country.  They are currently 31 and 5 and playing great softball.  The Aggies play a very tough schedule.  Texas A&M Softball<\/a> shows that their losses have come to #10 Oklahoma State, #13 Texas Tech, and #4 Florida twice.  Some of their top wins have come against #22 Auburn, #24 Alabama, and #8 Florida State.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Texas A&M has played a very difficult schedule and it does not get any easier the rest of the season.  If they can continue to play at a high level they will have a great shot of heading to Oklahoma for the World Series.  The Aggies who hit .351 as a team with 32 home runs and 66 doubles are led by Amari Harper and Mya Perez.  In the circle the top pitchers are Emiley Kennedy with 11 wins and Sidne Peters with 7 wins.  This team is poised to make a big postseason run.

#5 Oregon<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll<\/a> has the Ducks as the fifth best softball team in the country.  Oregon currently is 31-3.  University of Oregon Softball<\/a> shows that their only losses have come to Arizona State, Oregon State, and Washington.  The Ducks have big wins on the season over #5 Tennessee, #8 Florida State, and  #22 Missouri.  This Oregon team hits for a .367 average with 59 home runs and 59 doubles.  They have scored 300 runs in 34 games.  Their top hitters so far this season are Kedre Luschar, Rylee McCoy, and Paige Sinicki.  Defensively they are led on the mound by Lyndsey Grein with 18 wins and Elise Sokoisky who has 8 wins.  The Ducks are hoping to continue to play good softball, win a Big Ten Title, and have a chance to win a National Championship at the end of the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Others
<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There are a lot of really good softball teams this year.  The top five teams are really good, but right on their heels .Several other very strong teams, that are hoping to contend for a title as well.  USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll<\/a> lists Tennessee, LSU, UCLA, South Carolina, Florida State, Virginia Tech, Arizona. Arkansas as the next best teams.  It all depends on which team gets hot at the right time.  Anyone of these teams could be crowned National Champions at the end of the season.  It will take a little luck and some breaks.  We are in for a great second half of the softball season.
