Here, I\u2019ll talk about how each work of art I\u2019ve chosen resonates with me and why. The way the couple embraces and shares a kiss is beautiful. Likewise, the song \u201cBesame Mucho\u201d, which literally translates to \u201cKiss Me a Lot\u201d and is performed by Andrea Bocelli, conveys an elegance and a deep love that I can definitely see reflected in this painting. I think they\u2019re perfect for each other: the soft, lively bolero instrumental goes perfectly with the background and the flowers at the couple\u2019s feet, while Andrea Bocelli\u2019s voice perfectly matches the emotion conveyed by the couple.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>La Danse by Henry Matisse &#8211; Dancing Queen by ABBA<\/strong><br><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"750\" height=\"507\" src=\"https:\/\/digitalwriting.cornellcollege.edu\/musichrome\/wp-content\/uploads\/52\/2026\/09\/IMG_1940.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-99\" style=\"width:561px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/digitalwriting.cornellcollege.edu\/musichrome\/wp-content\/uploads\/52\/2026\/09\/IMG_1940.jpeg 750w, https:\/\/digitalwriting.cornellcollege.edu\/musichrome\/wp-content\/uploads\/52\/2026\/09\/IMG_1940-300x203.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-spotify wp-block-embed-spotify wp-embed-aspect-21-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Spotify Embed: Dancing Queen\" style=\"border-radius: 12px\" width=\"100%\" height=\"152\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; fullscreen; picture-in-picture\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/embed\/track\/0GjEhVFGZW8afUYGChu3Rr?si=aBPJk6M1TXW3jP61r6ZaCg&amp;utm_source=oembed\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I find \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.henrimatisse.org\/the-dance.jsp\" id=\"https:\/\/www.henrimatisse.org\/the-dance.jsp\">La Danse<\/a>\u201d to be a very fluid painting, which made it somewhat difficult for me to find a song to pair with it, at first, I imagined a softer, more fluid song, but none of them seemed quite right. In the end, I settled on \u201cDancing Queen\u201d by ABBA. Even though this song is very different from what I initially imagined, I think it\u2019s perfect. The painting depicts women dancing freely, holding hands, representing freedom, unity, and social constraints, exactly what \u201cDancing Queen\u201d is about.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Scream by Edvard Munch &#8211; Running Up That Hill by Kate Bush<\/strong><br><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"474\" height=\"637\" src=\"https:\/\/digitalwriting.cornellcollege.edu\/musichrome\/wp-content\/uploads\/52\/2026\/09\/IMG_1934.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-100\" style=\"width:506px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/digitalwriting.cornellcollege.edu\/musichrome\/wp-content\/uploads\/52\/2026\/09\/IMG_1934.jpeg 474w, https:\/\/digitalwriting.cornellcollege.edu\/musichrome\/wp-content\/uploads\/52\/2026\/09\/IMG_1934-223x300.jpeg 223w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 474px) 100vw, 474px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-spotify wp-block-embed-spotify wp-embed-aspect-21-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Spotify Embed: Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)\" style=\"border-radius: 12px\" width=\"100%\" height=\"152\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; fullscreen; picture-in-picture\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/embed\/track\/1PtQJZVZIdWIYdARpZRDFO?si=GbqmzFU7S_mHvT0os7dC-g&amp;utm_source=oembed\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.edvardmunch.org\/the-scream.jsp\" id=\"https:\/\/www.edvardmunch.org\/the-scream.jsp\">The Scream<\/a>&#8221; depicts the anguish, anxiety, and psychological pressures of modern life. On the other hand, \u201cRunning Up That Hill\u201d is about the desire for a man and a woman to switch places so they can understand each other\u2019s perspective in everyday life. The song connects well with this artwork because, aesthetically, I think they complement each other nicely. BTS\u2019s \u201cBlack Swan\u201d is about when an artist is forced to stop creating and \u201cdies\u201d by abandoning their art. Although this connection may seem somewhat contradictory at first glance, as an artist, it makes sense to me. Art becomes a part of us; no matter how early or late you abandon your art, it\u2019s something that will always be with you. This piece conveys a deep passion and love for dance on the part of the dancer, reminding us why we artists do what we do, while \u201cBlack Swan\u201d conveys the deep fear of never being able to do what we love again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What do you think about this matches?
