Below are some resources that can be useful to keep in mind that are friendly to queer people. They can be good for if you or someone you know are in crisis. They&#8217;re also a reliable source of information for questions on queer topics, as well as sex ed and mental health topics as a whole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:34px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetrevorproject.org\/\">The Trevor Project<\/a>:<\/strong> The Trevor Project is best known for its crisis services. They have trained mental health counselors who are always available. They also do a lot of advocacy work, making them a great educational resource and way to get involved with queer issues in your community!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/itgetsbetter.org\/\">It Gets Better Project<\/a>:<\/strong> The It Gets Better Project is a nonprofit organization that aims to build an online community through art. They uplift queer voices, as well as educate people on queer topics.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/\">Planned Parenthood<\/a>:<\/strong> While generally brought up in discussions of abortion, Planned Parenthood does a number of other things. They provide other medical care such as STD and STI testing and treatment, prenatal care, gender-affirming care, and sexual assault services. They\u2019re also a good place to go to for sex education questions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hrc.org\/\">Human Rights Campaign<\/a>:<\/strong> The Human Rights Campaign is an educational organization with tons of resources, not just for queer people but also for other minorities. They have information on legislation and other similar topics, as well as ways to find communities in your area.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/glaad.org\/\">GLAAD<\/a>:<\/strong> GLAAD focuses on queer media and representation. They\u2019re a good place to go for queer news, as well as stories that feature well-written queer characters.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/transgenderlawcenter.org\/\">Transgender Law Center<\/a>:<\/strong> The Transgender Law Center is an advocacy group for trans rights. They work toward fighting anti-trans legislature. They also provide resources that would be helpful for queer people seeking legal help. They do not provide individualized legal counsel.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.campuspride.org\/\">Safe Space Program<\/a>:<\/strong> Campus Pride is a student-led advocacy group that aims to create more accepting environments in schools. Their Safe Space Program trains people working in those environments to help them be more conscious of that.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello!
